Hacktivism - 1. Using technology and ingenuity to advance human rights through electronic media; a policy of hacking, phreaking, or creating technology to achieve a political or social gain (What is Hacktivism). 2. The nonviolent use of legal and/or illegal digital tools in pursuit of political ends (Wikipedia). The SOPA/ PIPA protests are examples of hacktivism in action. Groups such as Anyonomity are known as hactivists.
